Neighborhood Garage Sale - May 4th

If you have been wanting to get that old stuff out of your house and into someone else's, this Saturday, May 4th, is your chance.  The annual Fallbrook garage sale is this weekend...Free advertising for you in several newspapers and online spots.  So, get those stickers out and start brewing the coffee, the shoppers are sure to be here at the earliest possible time!

The sale will be posted in 3-4 newspapers.  So get your stuff out and start labeling.  This is the BEST garage sale of the year!

Adopt A Family

Adopt a Family

There are families all around us who are struggling to make ends meet. Some of their needs are obvious and some not so. Help make the holiday season bright for everyone this year by helping out someone in need. A kind word, a friendly hand, an unexpected gift, … there is no greater gift than helping someone in need for the holidays. 

Every year, our Fallbrook Neighborhood adopts a local families and helps give them the gift of hope. By purchasing gifts for these families, we help them enjoy the holiday season and give them memories that will last a lifetime. These families have provided us with their wish lists and we can help make their dreams come true. Please think about these families as you enjoy your holiday shopping. We are collecting donations until December 16th. Drop your unwrapped gifts off at the Board meeting on December 11, or at 9137 Tuxford Ct., (call Denise first at 685-9038).

Favorites are Toy Story & Captain America

This family has had to travel recently, could use gas money and holiday food.

Likes Hello Kitty stuff, earrings, body spray, make-up & hair stuff.

Boy, age 9 – Size 10 pants (children’s), 12/14 shirts (children’s) shoe size 2 ½ (youth), Green Bay Packer fan (needs a football), head phones, Xbox controller, Chapter books

Boy, age 4 – Size 4/5 clothing, shoe size 9 (children’s)

Favorites are Lego’s (Duplo sets for age 2-5), soft football & other indoor balls

Imginitech spelling toys would be great in the home.

Mom and Dad made no request, but would appreciate gifts.

Candidate Forum

Come to the candidate forum on October 17, 6:30 to 8:30 in the EG Elementary Multi-purpose room. The mayoral candidates and the school board candidates will be there to answer your questions. 
This is the first time Elk Grove will be electing a mayor! Don't miss it.

As for the Ice Cream Contest...No Rules!

We will provide Dixie Cups and Spoons for taste testing.  Each person testing will be given 3 tickets to vote for their favorite.  Contest will be held under the Van Doren Depot.
If you plan on participating, please email us, so that we know how many signs to bring for the flavors, so that they can be posted in front of your ice cream.  egfallbrook@yahoo.com

The winner will have their recipe printed in the Newsletter.

The board will also be providing store bought Ice Cream for all to enjoy!

The MOONSHINE MULES will be there at 7; however, feel free to get there earlier in order to get a spot and have a picnic!

Bring your instruments, if you feel like having a little Jam session!  Everyone is welcome to join in!

Elk Grove Police Department Safety Town

Attention Fallbrook Residents...Do you have a child going into Kindergarten this fall? If you do, there is a really cool Safety program developed by the Elk Grove Police Department that you might want to register them for. It is a 2 week program, 2 1/2 hours long, M-F for only $25. There is only 64 kids allowed in the program and you have to mail your registration in, so if you are interested, check out this link and get it in. I have heard from other parents in the neighborhood that have had children attend and they absolutely LOVED it!

Support Elk Grove Elementary!

Elk Grove Elementary School will be having an Ice Cream Social, outdoor music, and Auction, Friday, May 11, 2012 from 5:30-8:30. Come join in the fun! 

Elk Grove Community Garden Event!

There is an event with workshops and vendors on April 15th at McConnell Park (Hampton Village), tours of the Elk Grove Community Garden and then a self-guided driving tour of 15+ homes in Elk Grove that demonstrate some of the techniques and design ideas that make a landscape river-friendly, eco-friendly and water conserving.

What's unique about this event for Fallbrook is that 4 homes and Van Doren Park are featured in the self-guided driving tour in addition to homes in Quail Ranch and Camden.  We are featuring a homes on Dever Circle, Ellery Place, Colliston, and Carney Court!

EASTER EGG HUNT!
